\n\nThe 2nd SIBECOL meeting will be a joint meeting with the XXI Congres o de la Asociació\;n Ibé\;rica de Limnologí\;a\, and wil l take place in the city of Aveiro\, Portugal (2-8 July). It runs under th e motto "\;Ecology: Bettering our sustainable future through s cientific knowledge&rdquo\; and will go back to the face-to-face format. Given the integrative and transdisciplinary aspects of ecological research\, this meeting encourages contributions from researchers working on all sub-disciplines of ecology\, ecosystems\, and biological organizati on levels. It welcomes also policy makers\, environmental managers\, and o ther people interested in ecology and in promoting a sustainable future.\n

\nIn the past decade the revolution in technolog y and freely available time series data has allowed for a more comprehensi ve understanding of ecological processes in terrestrial\, freshwater and m arine ecosystems. This course aims to provide the most useful R packages a nd functions to explore and analyze different time series that are common in ecology\, such as population census\, high temporal resolution sensors\ , or spatial data. Also\, the course seeks to establish a network among SI BECOL researchers\, especially those at the early stages of their careers.

\nApplicants must fill \ ;the application form \;before the 15 December 2022 at 23:59h. \;If the number of applicants exceeds the limit of participants\, we will prioritize (i) early career researche rs and (ii) \;members of SIBECOL and affiliated societies that have th eir fees updated when this call close. Early career researchers are predoc s and postdocs with <\; 6 years of experience since their PhD defense. I n case of tie\, we will follow gender equality and diversity criteria.&nbs p\;There are 30 seats available. \;Further\, five seats will be reserv ed to early career researchers from ICM-CSIC\, which will have a 20% disco unt on the non-membership fee​.
